BOSTON (AP) -- Funeral arrangements have been set for a Massachusetts man killed in Syria while fighting the Islamic State group.
Keith Broomfield, who had no military training, is believed to be the first U.S. citizen to die fighting alongside Kurdish forces against ISIS.
An obituary says Broomfield, 36, of Westminster, will be buried Wednesday at a private ceremony following a morning funeral at Grace Baptist Church in Hudson.
A wake will be held Tuesday at the church from 4 to 7 p.m.
Broomfield, a plant manager at his family's Bolton-based business, Broomfield Labs Inc., died June 3. His body arrived in Boston Saturday and was brought to Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home in Hudson.
The obituary says he died "in defense of those being persecuted for their Christian faith."
Dry and cool for a few days then turning much warmer by the end of the week. A rather dry pattern as well.
