MADISON (WKOW) -- A the line of storms that moved across Southern Wisconsin this morning is weakening as it continues to move east, but it left quite a bit of damage in Grant County.

Grant County Emergency Management Director Steve Braun says the worst damaged areas include Cassville, Lancaster, Potosi, Platteville and Hazel Green, with sheds and outbuildings reportedly destroyed in the Cassville, Platteville and Hazel Green.

Also, several homes have been damaged by fallen trees.

However, emergency management officials said, as of 10:30 a.m., no injuries have been reported.

All initial damage reports are consistent with straight line/thunderstorm winds.

Alliant Energy's web site calculates the company has nearly six-thousand customers without power in Grant County, and nearly nine-thousand across Southern Wisconsin.

Todd Pritchard with Wisconsin Emergency Management say it appears most of the worst storm damage appears to be concentrated in Grant County. Any residents there who need assistance or sustained significant damages are encouraged to contact the Emergency Management office at 608-723-7171.
