STEVENS POINT (WAOW)-- A Stevens Point group is determined to see change in the city.
They've got big ideas, but they say they need some help to make them a reality.
Stevens Point was recently ranked as one of the best small cities in America by Nerdwallet.com.
One group thinks the city can be even better.
"How do we make Stevens Point a more livable, prosperous community for everybody in the community," Tori Jennings, a ReVisioning Point leader, said.
Last year a group of neighbors took it upon themselves to start making a difference.
"We just started brainstorming ideas and around November we formed ReVisioning Point," said Jennings.
So far.. they have two main goals.
ReVisioning Point is talking about making the town a more bike friendly place, adding more bike parking and possibly a bike share program.
"The other is the redevelopment of North Division Street, " Jennings. "We think it's an incredible opportunity for the community and it could resolve some of the housing issues we are having."
Leaders say first they are having a conversation with the community. On Thursday, the group will hold their second official gathering, a walking meeting.
Jennings says together they plan on taking a walk trough North Division Street to talk about improvements.
"We all have a real love for Stevens Point, we all think this is a great place," said Jennings.
A great place they believe can become even greater.
The meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday night at the Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Bureau on Division Street.
