5 separate shootings in Milwaukee leave 2 dead, 3 injured
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a string of five separate shootings that left two men dead and three injured. A police statement says all the Fourth of July shootings happened late Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. While police initially said three men were killed, they issued an update later Sunday saying that one victim they reported dead turned out to have survived, but with a "very serious wound." The 20-year-old man was shot around 4:45 p.m. A 23-year-old man was found shot just before 11 p.m. He died at the scene. Police say the circumstances of that shooting aren't clear. Gunfire broke out outside a house hosting a large house party around 11:15 p.m. A 31-year-old man was wounded and died at a hospital. Police haven't announced any arrests.
