MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A federal judge has sentenced Sun Prairie's former information technology director to two years in prison for stealing more than $500,000 from the city to build computers he sold online.

U.S. District Judge William Conley handed down 52-year-old Randall Tyler's sentence on Friday. He also ordered Tyler to repay the city the full value of the computers and the $63,300 it cost the city to cooperate investigation and prosecution.

Federal prosecutors said Tyler already has liquidated his home and retirement accounts to repay the city nearly $473,700.

Tyler's attorney didn't immediately respond to an email message seeking comment.
