Services set for Wisconsin Marine killed in Chattanooga
GRANTSBURG, Wis. (AP) -- Funeral services have been set for a Wisconsin native who was one of four Marines killed in last week's shootings in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Visitation for 25-year-old Sgt. Carson Holmquist will be held at Grantsburg High School on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A private family service will follow. The Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home says the pallbearers will be a Marine Corps honor guard.
Holmquist was a 2008 graduate of Grantsburg High School, where he played football. He joined the Marines in 2009 and served two tours of duty in Afghanistan.
He's survived by his wife, Jasmine, and their 2-year-old son, Wyatt. He's the son of Thomas and La Brenda Holmquist, of Grantsburg.
Gov. Scott Walker has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff until sunset Saturday in Holmquist's honor.
