(ABC/WDIO) --A Minnesota man has completed a historic feat circumnavigating Lake Superior entirely on a stand-up paddleboard.
"I never felt too lonely, just being frustrated at times being isolated and pinned down by the weather, only being able to lean on myself, mentally that kind of wore me out a little bit. But the bad days were always followed by 2 or 3 really good weather days where I could cover a lot of ground," Jared Munch said.
"The biggest I paddled in was 4, maybe 5 feet at the largest. And the wave size isn't necessarily a problem, it's the wind that comes with the waves. And being on a standup paddleboard, you really get pushed around by the wind a lot. So if I sat out a day, it wasn't because the waves were too big, it was because it was too windy."
Munch, a college student, believes he is the first person to ever do this.
