Sparta man held for attacking La Crosse police officer
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- A Sparta man is accused of attacking a La Crosse police officer.
Twenty-two-year-old Jacob Olsen appeared in La Crosse County Circuit Court Thursday afternoon when bond was set at $10,000. WKBT-TV says Officer Mark Rosenmeier responded to a report of a person assaulting people Tuesday.
Police say when the officer arrived, Olsen jumped on the hood of his squad and pounded his head into the windshield. When Rosenmeier got out, the man attacked him until he was pepper sprayed. Both were treated at the hospital for injuries.
