LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- An 18-year-old man has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in La Crosse.
Deshawn Randall of La Crosse was charged Thursday in the Aug. 21 death of George Miller. According to a criminal complaint, Randall shot Miller during an argument as Miller sat in a car.
The complaint says the gun jammed and Miller ran, but that Randall went after him and shot him several more times. Police say Randall was arrested later that day after a standoff with police.
According to the complaint, Randall told investigators that Miller shot at him about a week earlier.
Randall is being held in jail on a $1 million cash bond. WEAU-TV reports a public defender representing him declined to comment.
