NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (AP) -- A mother and daughter found dead in a New Richmond house fire were likely stabbed.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner says the deaths of 30-year-old Courtney Bradford and 10-year-old Jasmine Bradford were homicides.
The fire was reported Wednesday afternoon after a report of smoke. Fire crews arrived to find Courtney Bradford upstairs and Jasmine in the basement.
KSTP-TV reports the medical examiner says Courtney Bradford had stab wounds to her neck and torso, and Jasmine had stab wounds to her neck.
Police say they arrested an ex-boyfriend of Bradford in El Paso, Texas on fraud charges. Police Chief Mark Samelstad says he's a "subject of prime interest" in the deaths.
