2 people from Illinois killed in Wisconsin SUV rollover
PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol says two people from Rockford, Illinois, were killed and two others were injured in a rollover on Interstate 39 near Portage.
The Patrol says the four were in a northbound SUV that tried to change lanes just before 9 a.m. Sunday. It says the SUV was in the center lane when the driver tried to change to the left, but another vehicle was there. The SUV returned to the center lane but overcorrected and went into the right ditch, where it rolled several times.
The dead included the driver, 53-year-old Rosa Maria Ceballos-Flores, and 51-year-old Jose L. Rubi.
Two other passengers from Rockford, 49-year-old Jose Arias Vazquez and 40-year-old Ana Laticia Ruiz, were taken to UW Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
