WI community builds playground for children with disabilities

Posted:

A Kenosha woman's dream to build a playground for all children in her neighborhood is becoming a reality.

On Monday, the community started building the Kenosha Dream Playground Project.

The goal is to create a playground that children with special needs and disabilities can enjoy, too. It will feature swings and merry-go-rounds for kids in wheelchairs.

The dream playground has been a labor of love for Kenosha special needs teacher Tammy Conforti. She helped raise more than $600,000 in three years to fund the project.

Conforti says they plan on having a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 10th.
