Man allegedly sprayed chemical in Dane County hotel room
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Vermont man has been arrested after he allegedly sprayed pepper spray in a Dane County hotel room, prompting a temporary evacuation when the chemical got into the hotel's ventilation system.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says authorities were called to a possible hazardous materials incident Friday night at the Comfort Inn & Suites in the Township of Vienna.
They arrived to find the 45-year old Vergennes, Vermont, man had sprayed pepper spray in his room.
Hotel guests who were affected by the spray were treated at the scene for minor exposure and allowed to go back inside after the building was ventilated.
The man is in custody on one count of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal damage to property.
