Car tries to crash gate of Belgian barracks

BRUSSELS (AP) -- Belgian media are reporting that a car has tried to crash through the gates of an army barracks, and shots have been fired.

The incident reportedly happened this morning near the French-speaking town of Namur, south of Brussels. Belgium's Defense Cabinet chief says the person in the vehicle fled.

He couldn't confirm media reports that there were explosives in the car.
