Ohio plant workers take pride in making Super Bowl footballs

ADA, Ohio (AP) -- The players in the Super Bowl hail from across the United States. But the footballs the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos will use in Sunday's big game come from one place: Ada, Ohio.

The village is home to the Wilson Sporting Goods factory that makes footballs used by the NFL, many of the nation's top college teams, high schools, and more.

The Wilson brand is so dominant that plant manager Dan Riegle says every offensive point scored in an NFL game since 1941 was with one of the company's footballs.

According to Riegle, the factory's 100-plus employees make 3,000 to 4,000 footballs daily.

For this year's Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, Wilson sent each team 108 footballs. They feature the Super Bowl 50 logo, team names, date, and location.
