MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A northwestern Wisconsin legislator is calling it quits after a decade in Madison.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos announced Monday that Rep. John Murtha, a Baldwin Republican, won't seek re-election to a sixth term.
Murtha was first elected to the Assembly in 2006. He currently serves on the Assembly's housing and real estate committee as well as the Assembly Republican caucus chairman.
Four Assembly Republicans have now decided not to seek re-election, including Murtha, Tom Larson of Colfax, Dean Knudson of Hudson and Dave Heaton of Wausau.
