Snow causes cancellations, delays at Central Wisconsin Airport

The snow storm affected air travel at the Central Wisconsin Airport.

Two flights were canceled, to and from Minneapolis, leaving people scrambling to find another way to get to their destination.

"I know we're pretty full for the next couple of weeks so those people could stand to be impacted for longer than one or two flights potentially," said Central Wisconsin Airport director Brian Grefe.

Several flights were delayed, one coming from Detroit.

Not knowing exactly when the snow would hit and how much would fall, people still prepared for the possibilities of delays, including getting to the airport hours before scheduled take-off.

"The forecast a day ago had it coming in a little later," said traveler Mark Hepler. "I figured out here that wasn't a big deal, I figured we'd get away."

The possibility of delays or cancellations, left travelers worried not just for their first flight but for their connections in Chicago, Detroit or Minneapolis.

"Chicago would probably have a lot of flights going out, but once you get to Chicago you never know," said Hepler.

People traveling by air out of Central Wisconsin mid-day, were happy to see the lack of snow.

"I'm feeling pretty good about it actually, was I worried yes, but I think we're getting lucky this time," said Hepler.
