Rasmus homers twice, Astros defeat Brewers 6-4

Colby Rasmus hit his first two home runs of the season, going back-to-back with rookie Tyler White in the fifth inning, helping to snap the Astros three-game losing streak with a 6-4 win over the Brewers on Saturday night at Miller Park.

The Astros loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning against Brewers starter Wily Peralta (0-2) and took a 2-0 lead on sacrifice flies by Rasmus and White. Rasmus' first home run of the season, in the third inning, made it 3-0, and Rasmus and White homered in the fifth to make it 6-1.

In his first start for  Houston, Doug Fister allowed three runs, five hits and struck out six batters in five innings. Homers by Scooter Gennett in the fifth off Fister and Kirk Nieuwenhuis in the sixth off Pat Neshek got the Brewers within three.

Game 3 of the series between Milwaukee and Houston starts tomorrow at 1:10 p.m.
