Schobert and Watt advance to the NFL

Former Badgers linebacker Joe Schobert and fullback Derek Watt finally got the call on the third and final day of the 2016 NFL draft.

Schobert, a walk-on at Madison, was taken in the fourth round, 99th overall by the Cleveland Browns.

"They're in a good division with the Steelers, the Ravens and the Bengals," the All-American pass rusher said. "So, I'm excited to get out there and start working."

Schobert joins another Badger alum in Cleveland, Pro-Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas, who has already reached out to his new teammate.

"He called me right after just to talk and say congratulations," Schobert said. "They've still got a bunch of other guys still hoping to get drafted today, so we'll probably talk a little bit more tomorrow or in the coming days."

Watt, brother of All-Pro linebacker J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans, was taken in the sixth round, 198th overall by the San Diego Chargers.
