BOSTON (AP) -

A pig attacked and seriously injured a man at a Massachusetts farm hours after the animal attacked a woman.

Police say the animal, an adult boar, or male pig, attacked both victims Tuesday night at a farm in Townsend, about 50 miles northwest of Boston.

The 50-year-old man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say he was attacked a couple hours after the same pig went after a 38-year-old woman. She was taken to a hospital with lacerations on her body.

The animal has been quarantined pending further evaluation on Wednesday.

Police say they will be working with animal control and veterinary officials to determine a course of action.

It's unclear why the pig attacked the victims.
