Attorney General to speak on Eagle Nation officer-involved shooting
NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) -
Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel is in Neenah on Friday to announce an update on the officer-involved shooting death of Michael Funk.
Funk was shot and killed by police while escaping a hostage situation at the Eagle Nation motorcycle shop. Police say they warned Funk to drop the gun he was carrying, but a videoobtained by USA Today Network-Wisconsin shows police gave no warning.
Schimel will speak at 11:15 Friday morning in the Neenah City Council chambers at city hall. The Department of Justice did not provide information about the nature of Schimel’s announcement.
Neenah City Attorney Jim Godlewski said he’ll be there with Mayor Dean Kaufert and Police Chief Kevin Wilkinson to answer questions after the attorney general speaks.
