EAST POINT, Ga. (AP) -- An Atlanta area restaurant had to close early on Mother's Day due to a brawl that started because an employee was smiling.
News outlets report that a fight broke out between customers and employees Sunday at Kiku Japanese Steakhouse in East Point.
A police report says busboy Demonte Harrison was cleaning tables when a female customer berated him for smiling. Harrison replied that it was his job to smile and a male customer punched Harrison.
The report says Harrison was attacked by three other men. Employees attempted to help Harrison fight them off.
Parts of the fight were recorded on cellphone video by other customers.
No one was seriously injured.
East Point police are looking for four men and one woman in the incident.
Restaurant owner Charlie Son estimates he lost $5,000 in business because of the fight.
One year after a deadly shooting rampage in Marathon County, the community and businesses honored the four lives lost in different ways.
