Mitsubishi Motors says mileage cheating may be on all models

Posted:

TOKYO (AP) -- Mitsubishi Motors says it suspects that false tests and inflated mileage is affecting all of its vehicles sold in Japan.

Mitsubishi had previously said that just its minicars were tampered with.

But Wednesday the company says the extent of such fraudulence is wide, possibly affecting all current and discontinued models in Japan.

The Japanese automaker is under investigation for lying about fuel economy data.
