Sanders still says he's 'just getting started'

Bernie Sanders still says he's "just getting started."

He's talking about his "political revolution" that challenged Hillary Clinton's campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination for a straight year -- until she clinched the delegates required earlier this month. Specifically, he's signaled the transition of his movement from a presidential run to one aimed at bolstering likeminded Democratic candidates for Congress and offices up-and-down the ballot.

Sanders acknowledged the obvious earlier this week -- that he's not going to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016. But he had not formally dropped out of the race or endorsed Clinton, as Democrats on Capitol Hill have urged.

Instead, the Vermont senator told a packed hall in Manhattan Thursday that the drive against economic inequality and to change the Democratic Party would continue. He says that means "forcing open the door" to working Americans rather than letting political elites run the party.
