Indianapolis police ID 3 people found dead while child slept
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Indianapolis police have identified three people found dead inside an apartment where a child was sleeping when officers arrived.
Police identified the victims found dead Friday morning as 23-year-old Takara Coleman, 25-year-old Cameron Baker, and 52-year-old Lisa Woods. They say Coleman and Baker lived in the unit, and Woods was a neighbor.
When officers arrived on the scene about 7:15 a.m., they found the front door open. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots about an hour earlier.
Police spokesman Maj. Richard Riddle says all three suffered apparent gunshot wounds. He says the two women were found on a couch in the front room, while Baker's body was found in a bedroom where an 18-month-old girl was asleep on a bed. The child was taken to a hospital for evaluation but appeared unharmed.
