Jordy Nelson padded up at practice

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson practiced in pads today for the first time in more than a year.

Returning to the practice field from an ACL tear in his right knee and a minor injury in his left, Nelson was limited to individual work, some of which did include catching passes form quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It is also worth noting that Nelson was not seen wearing a brace on either knee.

Nelson said today he is still uncertain whether he'll play in the preseason, but is confident he's on pace to play in the regular season opener against Jacksonville.

"We will eventually build into team periods and I should get plenty of that by the time Jacksonville comes around," Nelson said. "So, just based off normal progressions, next week we will probably get into some competitive periods and then Jacksonville I don't have any reason to think I wouldn't be [having] a normal week of prep."
