African American senator defends Clinton on Klan video
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A Democratic African American state senator from Wisconsin says Hillary Clinton is not out of line for posting a new online video that compiles footage of white supremacist leaders praising Donald Trump. Sen. Lena Taylor, of Milwaukee, commented Thursday on the new video that Trump's campaign has condemned and called for Clinton to disavow. Taylor was asked about it during a conference call organized by Clinton's campaign on a different topic. Taylor says Trump has "promoted and encouraged hate and divisiveness." She also notes that former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke has endorsed Trump. Taylor says, "With those things in mind, I do not believe it is inappropriate in any way to make the connections" on the video.
