Teen arrested in shooting at Texas fraternity party

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Austin police say an 18-year-old man has been arrested after a security guard was injured in a shooting at a University of Texas fraternity house.

Police said Monday that Daniel Hamilton Magee, who isn't a UT student, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. An arrest warrant affidavit says Magee had expressed interest in joining the Sigma Chi fraternity.

The affidavit says fraternity members asked an on-site security guard to kick Magee out of their party early Sunday for causing problems. After being removed from the off-campus fraternity, Magee returned with two other men.

Assistant Chief Troy Gay said Magee admitted shooting the security guard in the foot when he returned.

Magee was jailed on $50,000 bond. Jail records don't list an attorney for him.
