Sun Prairie schools closed Monday for mold inspection
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) -- All schools in the Sun Prairie district are closed while an inspection for mold is conducted.
The closure Monday began with Eastside Elementary where mold developed because of recent high humidity. Classes at Eastside will be moved to other locations while an outside contractor removes the mold, which the district says isn't toxic. The cleanup is expected to take two to four weeks.
Because of the situation at Eastside, district administrators decided to inspect all the schools on Monday.
The district says after school activities have been canceled as well. Eastside students are expected to return to school at other locations on Wednesday.
