Packers get RB Knile Davis in trade with Chiefs

The Green Bay Packers have made a move to add some depth to their running game.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports the Packers nabbed running back Knile Davis in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs.

As part of the deal, the Packers give up a conditional late-round draft pick, according to Rapoport.

Davis, 25, was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has a career 11 touchdowns and 775 yards.

The move should help take some pressure off Eddie Lacy, who has been struggling with an ankle injury. The Packers are also without running back James Starks who is dealing with a knee injury.

The move comes after Sunday’s offensive struggles against the Cowboys and before the Packers host the Bears on Thursday night.
