MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW)-- Authorities have arrested an inmate, after she cut off her electronic monitoring device, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
They say Macey Hardt was arrested by Wausau Police around 12:30 Thursday, about two hours after being released on an ankle monitor for a doctor's appointment. After seeing the physician she removed her ankle monitor and was unable to be located.
Her tracking device was found in the bathroom of the Walgreens on Bridge Street.
The store's manager said it was discovered in the toilet, and it appeared someone tried to flush it.
An undercover Wausau Police officer found Hardt on the other side of town, on the 700 block of Forest Street.
The officer saw her walk into a home, and arrested Hardt without incident.
She was behind bars on a sentence related to a Child Support case.
