The heartbroken owners of a destroyed Forest County supper club are trying to cope with the loss during the holiday season.
Silverlake Inn and Supper Club in Laona suffered serious damage after flames broke out at the establishment Monday night.
"Devastated," said co-owner Lori Locy.
"Yeah, my heart was broke," added Locy's partner, Karen Davis.
They just reopened the place in August, after it sat vacant for years - only to have their hard work undone.
Instead of hosting families at the supper club for Thanksgiving, they were forced to cancel their reservations.
"Extremely, extremely tough to tell them we could not host them for that," said Davis.
Silverlake had become synonymous with family, especially for Locy, who lost her mother within the month.
When it comes to the future of the supper club, Locy and Davis are still trying to figure out how to move forward.
"We don't know what we're going to do with it, if we're going to rebuild, if we're going to not," said Locy. "If we're just going to clean it up,"
The owners said they're extremely grateful for the community's support, as well as efforts from fire crews and law enforcement.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
