County Highway NN closed Thursday after the road was washed out, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office.
The road buckled just west of Thornapple Road in the Town of Rib Mountain after heavy rains, officials said in a Facebook post.
The cause for the close is due to a pipe which collapsed under the road, Marathon County Highway Commissioner Jim Griesbach said.
"It's 13 and a half feet high by 20 feet wide," Griesbach said. "It's an arch pipe. And the bottom of the pipe is slightly and with the rains and the rainfall, it collapsed the rest of the pipes. And now it's losing its structural integrity."
The road may be closed for up to two months, according to officials with the Marathon County Highway Department.
