Pedal pub business coming to Wausau

Wausau City Council approved an ordinance allowing a pedal pub business in Wausau. Dan Dadabo and Ashley Sampson brought the idea to city council committees months ago.

A pedal pub is a large bicycle that can fit multiple people with a bar in the middle. They generally ride between different businesses or along a specific route. The pedal pub Sampson and Dadabo are proposing would not serve alcohol; riders would bring their own.

"We really believe the bike will bring a lot of business, and an opportunity to do more fun things on the 400 block, around the community, and restaurants," said Dadabo. "So that's really what we're looking forward to."

Pedal pubs can be found in several other cities across Wisconsin including LaCrosse, Green Bay and Madison.

The business will be regulated, there are specific hours and routes the pub will be able to ride and riders will only be allowed a certain amount of alcohol on board.
