Wausau Chamber holds meeting on uniform addressing

The Wausau Regional Chamber of Commerce held a meeting on uniform addressing Thursday evening.

The purpose of the meeting was to inform businesses what the new address signs will look like, and how it may affect the businesses customer database.

David Mack with the Marathon Co. Conservation, Planning and Zoning Department was on hand to answer questions.

"You can't just necessarily say that doesn't effect me because my business is in Wausau, you still may have an effect because of your databases," said Mack.

Whether it's just a few, or thousands of customers, the county is trying to help businesses with their database update by giving them access to the old and new addresses online.

"You'll be able to download from our website the old address/new address for all of the towns that are involved in the project so you can update databases," said Mack.

One business owner showed up to the meeting, he said he isn't too worried about the changes and said he hopes that the address changes actually makes it easier to get to clients homes.

New addresses will be given from spring until the fall of this year.
