The Wausau Police Department has identified the suspect Friday's standoff on the west side of Wausau.
35-year-old Bennie Green was taken into custody after the incident which shut down roads on the 100 block of Maple Street for a couple hours Friday morning.
According to a press release, they were attempting to talk with Green, he pointed a firearm at officers and barricade himself inside his home.
Green was a suspect in a shooting investigation in the area of N. 3rd Ave. and Norton St on Wednesday Wausau police said. No one was hurt in that incident.
After hours of negotiating Green surrendered peacefully.
Green was taken to the Marathon County Jail for a warrant from Colorado.
One man is in custody after a search warrant was executed at his home on the west side of Wausau, according to police.
Officials say the man could be considered armed and dangerous, so they called in the Marathon County SWAT team.
Crews were on the scene of the 100 block of Maple Street. Police say they had been looking for the man for several days.
Some streets were blocked off and Eastbay was on lockdown. Grant Elementary School told Newsline 9 the school was not on lockdown, but students were brought inside.
