Marathon County Crime Stoppers: Valuable toys stolen


ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) - A valuable Wizard of Oz lunch box is among hundreds of collectible toys that a thief ripped off sometime between Feb. 17 and March 16.

The toys were stolen from a chicken wire storage area at the River Valley apartment complex, according to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department.

"They took 300 different Smurf items, multiple Strawberry Shortcake items, Care Bear play sets and a Wizard of Oz lunchbox and some McDonald's  McNugget collectible characters," Deputy Brad Tatro said.

Investigators say the following items - worth $3,000 - were stolen::

-300 PVC Smurfs.

-50 Super Smurfs.

-12 Smurf playsets and buildings. 

-One Smurf Farmhouse with red roof.

-21 various Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

-Five Strawberry Shortcake playsets.

-23 Care Bear dolls.

-Two Care Bear playsets.

-Eight PVC Care Bears.

-10 McDonald McNugget characters.

-One Wizard of Oz lunchbox.
