Marshfield bus driver, 53, pleads not guilty in teen sex case

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) - A 53-year-old Marshfield bus driver pleaded not guilty Wednesday to accusations he hosted an underage drinking party and made sexual advances on a 17-year-old girl, according to online Wood County court records.

Herbert Andres is charged with one felony - sexual assault of child by person who works or volunteers with children - in the Dec. 31 incident. No trial date was immediately set.

According to testimony during a preliminary hearing, Marshfield police began an investigation of Andres after an assistant principal at Marshfield Senior High reported he had been told a bus driver - Andres - was "doing inappropriate things with students," court records said.

Police were told Andres - a bus driver for the Marshfield Bus Service - hosted parties at his house and provided alcohol to underage students, including on New Year's Eve, court records said.

One teen told investigators Andres was being "touchy," grabbed her inappropriately and tried to kiss her at the party, according to a criminal complaint.

Andres acknowledged to investigators he had a New Year's Eve party but said he did not provide the minors with alcohol, court records said.
