REEDSVILLE, Wis. (WBAY) -

Officials say a Reedsville teen swept away on Alabama's Gulf Coast is presumed drowned.

The Fort Morgan Fire Department told the Associated Press that the search for Jevon Lemke is over.

The department will continue to patrol Fort Morgan Beach in the area where Lemke was pulled under by a rip current.

Lemke, a Reedsville High School student, has been missing since March 25. The family was swimming at Fort Morgan Beach when currents overtook them. Jevon jumped in to help his dad and stepmom and was swept away.

Volunteers, friends, and family traveled to Alabama to help with the search for Jevon.

The community has rallied around the Lemke family. Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf has collected more than $11,000 in donations and proceeds for the Lemke family. The course says it will continue to collect donations through April 6.

Jevon Lemke worked at the golf course.
