Milwaukee TV reporter charged with felony after fight at Miller Park

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WISN) -

A Milwaukee television reporter is facing a felony charge after he punched another reporter in the face at Miller Park.

AJ Bayatpour works for FOX6. He admits he hit TMJ4 reporter Ben Jordan after the two argued during a Brewers-Cubs game.

Police said Bayatpour broke Jordan's nose, his orbital bone and cracked a tooth.

Bayatpour's lawyer claims he was defending himself.

"I think it's important for people to understand that people don't have to wait until they get attacked before they defend themselves. You have the right under the law to defend yourself. You don't have to wait to get punched in the face yourself," defense attorney Julius Kim said. "This is a situation that happened not only between colleagues, but really, between friends. They know each other. They work with each other."

In the complaint, Jordan claims he was trying to talk to Bayatpour when Bayatpour hit him without warning.

Jordan said it started after his fiancee, another reporter, was offended by something Bayatpour said.
