UPDATE: Appeal filed for Schofield mobile home park

Schofield city leaders said an appeal filed by owners of Northern Mobile Home Park was submitted before its deadline.

News 9 previously reported the appeal was not filed in time. Now, we've learned city leaders received the appeal on May 1, but it was sent four days earlier. On Tuesday, city leaders said it's in the hands of the city's attorney.

In April, the city unanimously voted to take its license after reports of unsafe living conditions, according to the city council.

Residents were told they had until Aug. 1 to find a new place to call home but now the neighborhood's future is uncertain.

"It's certainly slightly more hopeful but it places everybody in limbo," Wayne Warren, a resident said. "You hope for the best and plan for the worst, it's all you can do."

People living in the park were shocked by the initial news but now have a glimmer of hope.

The city's attorney declined to comment.

News 9 tried to reach out to owners of the park several times and calls have not been returned.
