TSA reminds passengers about luggage regulations

As airport traffic picks up, security is making sure passengers know the rules at check point areas.

The Central Wisconsin Regional Airport shared tips on what you can and cannot bring on planes.

"We just want passengers to be aware so that when they get to the checkpoint they're not going to miss their flight," said TSA stakeholder Frank Pipia. "It's for awareness."

In 2017, more than 120,000 passengers were screened at the security checkpoint. Only one firearm was discovered that year.

Items like toy weapons that are identical to the real thing, are not allowed. Officials said when they are scanned through the x-rays, they look realistic.

TSA also will answer any questions on their twitter page. It is monitored 24/7.
