Skyward honored as good workplace for young professionals

STEVENS POINT (WAOW) - A second central Wisconsin business was honored Wednesday for being one of the 10 best places in Wisconsin for young professionals to work.

Skyward Inc., which makes software for managing school student information systems, received a 2018 Bubbler Award during a ceremony.

The award is given by NEWaukee and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to showcase companies making great strides to accommodate the interests of a shifting workforce.

Winners of the award are companies that feature what young professionals look for in today’s workplace, including competitive salary and benefits, opportunity for advancement and employee and community engagement.

Among the other central Wisconsin winners were Forward Bank in Marshfield and Greenheck in Schofield. Greenheck received its award in a ceremony May 7.

Others winning are Eppstein Uhen Architects of Milwaukee, GMR Marketing of Brookfield, Johnsonville of Sheboygan Falls, Northwestern Mutual of Milwaukee, Penrod of Milwaukee, Sargento Foods Inc. of Plymouth and Wisnet of Fond du Lac.

Skyward launched its first product in 1981 and now manages school information systems in 21 states involving more than seven million students, according to its web site.
