A 30-year-old Tigerton woman is sentenced to 15 years in prison after a drunken-driving crash that killed an Antigo motorcyclist and severely injured his daughter.

Billie Jo McSherry pleaded guilty last April. She was convicted of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle and operating while intoxicated causing injury in the July 8 crash that killed Robert Korhonen, 48, of Antigo and critically injured his 25-year-old daughter Stacey Zarda, court records said.

In a packed courtroom Friday, McSherry was ordered to spend 10 years on extended supervision after she gets out of prison, with one condition being she cannot enter taverns, bars or other establishments that get their primary income from alcohol sales, court records said.

According to the criminal complaint, McSherry's blood-alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit to drive when she crossed the center line on state Highway 49 and hit the motorcycle.

Jody Wolf  Korhonen, the wife and mother of the victims, said for the last year it's been a difficult to stay positive.

"The last year, it's been hard to get up everyday.I miss him every single day. It's been a struggle," she said.

Korhonen said her daughter spent two months in the hospital, but has recovered physically since. However, she's having issues mentally.

Family and friends are expected to fill the Portage County court room for the sentencing. Korhonen and others will have testimonies read.
