Wisconsin snow pile finally fully melted -- on July 9

APPLETON, Wis. (WISN) -

It made talk about Christmas in July just a little bit more believable, but a stubborn snow pile in Outagamie County has finally -- and fully -- melted.

"July 9th has to be some sort of record," city officials said in a Monday morning tweet with a photo showing a wet patch of concrete.

The small pile of snow, tucked away in a shady, cool spot in a parking garage, finally fell victim to the post-Independence Day weekend warm weather.

Accumulated during an April storm, the pile up until a little more than a month ago was reportedly still about a foot tall.

Now it's gone, but residents shouldn't lament the disappearance.

"It could easily be back in like four months," officials said.

And it probably will be.
