WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WAOW) -

A Wood County community is trying to raise money for a playground, in memory of two children, whose lives were taken by tragedy.

In April 2016, Justin Bohn killed his two kids, Paige Bohn, 5, and Devon Bohn, 3 before killing himself, in Wisconsin Rapids.

Police said they never discovered a motive.  Now, first responders are coming together with the rest of the community to raise money for a memorial playground in memory of Paige and Devon.

As part of the National Night Out, multiple fundraisers was held in the Crossview Church parking lot in Wisconsin Rapids.

There will be a Battle of the Badges t-shirt competition between local law enforcement and local firefighters.  If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, click HERE

After the t-shirt competition, there was be a penny war between local first responders. The penny war brought in $1,000.

All money raised from Tuesday's events will go towards the memorial playground.

The future home of the 'Fly High Memorial Playground' is the Wisconsin Rapids YMCA and Boys and Girls Club.
