Group of teens arrested on multiple drug charges

Five Wisconsin teenagers find themselves behind bars after allegedly trying to mail drugs to a home in Adams County.

Rait Abdui, 19, of Rome, along with fellow 19-year-old Kaitlyn La Chappelle and 18-year-olds Courtney La Chappelle, Cody Sullivan and Taytum Pegelow from Wisconsin Rapids were arrested on July 9 for numerous drug-related charges, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Rome Police Department.

Per the release, Rome police were notified by U.S. Postal Service inspectors and Grand Rapids police that a package containing nearly seven pounds of marijuana was scheduled to be delivered to the 300 block of Spring Trail in the Town of Rome.

Officials were on scene when the package was delivered, and a search of the home and several vehicles revealed items that could be used for the sale and distribution of pot, according to the release.

Requested charges include possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession and intent to deliver as a party, bail jumping, and possession of prescription medication without a prescription, the release said.
