STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- This week we have 2 winners.
It's the last time we're recognizing students for this school year we just couldn't pick one.
This week's winners are:
Washington Elementary School's kindergartners from Ms. Jankowski's, Ms. Ladron and Ms. Schnieder's classes.
And the 7th and 8th grade classes at the Three Lakes Junior High.
The kindergarteners at Washington Elementary met with Hospice coordinators and learned what it's like for families, when a loved one is dealing with a life-threatening illness.
Their discussion prompted the students to collect age appropriate presents from local businesses and the entire student body.
The students put together special tote-bags filled with a variety of gifts including stuffed animals, cards, games, and even hand-made quilts.
The hospice coordinators will now pass out the totes to kids who have a family member fighting for their life.
The student's at Three Lakes Junior High put on a spagetti dinner and raffle and raised $3,500 for a K-13 school in Haiti.
The 7th and 8th graders decided to help this cause, because of a World Hunger Banquet.. the school's faculty put on for the students on Earth Day.
The money raised will feed 10 students at the school in Haiti.
Congratulations, to Washington Elementary and Three Lakes Junior High and to all the schools we've highlighted this school year.
So many classes, so many amazing efforts to help those in need and make a difference in the classroom, and the community.
Starting in September, we will bring back this segment.
