Encaustic Painting at Art in the Park

Updated:
WAUSAU-- Encaustic painting is a beeswax based paint that consists of beeswax, resin and pigment. It is heated and applied to the surface. The paint cools immediately so there is no drying time. Jessie Fritsch of Stevens Point has been doing this for 4 years. She says, "Its been really fun educating people about it. People don't usually have no idea what encaustic is. They haven't heard of it. It is a lost art. So, it's really fun coming to art fairs and teaching people about it."
