Woman's death shocks community of Granton

CLARK COUNTY (WAOW) -- This tragedy has left people in nearby Granton both shocked and saddened. Many people in town knew the victim, but since she hasn't been identified by police, we aren't going to use her name.

Friends say she had a deep rooted history in the community and her death is affecting everyone.

"She was very soft spoken, very caring, very understanding. There's not one person in her life who didn't admire her and respect and her and bad things happen and the loss of her is something no one can get over," says Daniel Porter, a long-time friend and co-worker of the victim.

He says her death shocked everyone in the small village of Granton. "It was a feeling of unbelievable comprehension.. some things you just can't fathum happening this close to home it was a shock factor."

After friends and family heard the news they gathered at this church, to remember the victim.

"She was pretty well known she was friendly, outgoing, she gave the greatest hugs and she had one for you every time... she would just open her arms and give you the biggest and hardest hug..and hold on for so long. She was just the sweetest sweetest person," says Deb Marg, a friend of the victim.

Friends describe the victim as an angel, a great friend, and a true treasure; someone who will be truely missed and impossible to forget.

"It's going to be an uneasy subject for as long as people can probably try and cope with it and there's a lot of hurt a lot of remorse and a lot of questions unanswered," says Porter.

Clark county investigators say no one has been arrested, but they are continuing to investigate the death.
